Sit in programs continue

Sit in programs further continued in the land rights movement. One such sit-in program was organized in front of revenue office of Sindhupalchowk-An eleven day long women and land rights Paidalyatra in Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur District was organized with a presence of 297 participants.

Sit ins and other programs organized

A Nationwide Wall Painting, assembly, rally, and sit-in program was organized. Sit in program was organized by land deprived people at Shahid Manch and Khula Manch of Capital City. After the national sit-in campaign by land deprived people, Nepal Government and National Land Rights Forum made a 4 Point Consensus. As a result, the decision emphasized the need for the formation of Land Commission.

Madhesh Land Reform Assembly held

A nationwide sit-in program and demonstration was conducted. Madhesh Land Reform Assembly was held in Lahan of Siraha District.

Sit-in and National Movement

Sit-in program at Seven Political Parties District Office in 24 districts as well as in Central Office, Kathmandu was held. A meeting was also held by the Seven Political Parties addressing the sit-in and also assured their commitment to solve the problems related to the issue of land.

Indefinite Sit-in and gate padlocked

 Landless and tenant farmers from various districts including Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Mahottari and Sindhuplachowk organized Indefinite Sit-in and Padlocked the gate at the premises of District Land Reform Office and Revenue Office. On September, 2006, a 5 Point Consensus was made between Ministry of Land Reform and Management and National Land Rights Forum, Natural Resources and Means Committee.

Chure festival held

Chure Festival and People's Gathering was held.

Nationwide Campaign on Claiming Land Rights

Landless people organized a nationwide campaign for ensuring their land rights. As a result, more than one lakh families submitted their application at Land Commission. 

Participation and Assembly

During people's movement, all the existing Village Land Rights Forum showed their participation by carrying along agricultural tools. A Nationwide program alerting the assembly demanding land rights was organized.
