Program Overview
The RAIN project strengthens climate resilience in Nepal’s Madhesh and Lumbini Provinces, regions frequently impacted by floods and other climate-induced hazards. Through a locally led, inclusive approach, RAIN empowers communities to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to climate risks.
A key focus is the enhancement of Early Warning Systems (EWS) and promotion of Early Action (EA) at the grassroots level. The project centers community knowledge, capacity, and agency, aligning with FCDO’s localization agenda and the UK’s Grand Bargain Commitments.

Our Approach
RAIN mainstreams localization and inclusion across all outcomes. By transferring power and resources to community-based organizations (CBOs), the project ensures that local voices lead decision-making and action. This approach promotes ownership, and sustainability in climate resilience efforts.
